Food Find Friday-Cupcake Love

My mom and I decided at the beginning of September to try to do 1 month of no sugar AT ALL. To some that might seem easy, but if you know my mom and I...it's nearly impossible.
We were doing great...a little over 3 weeks in when my mom asked me if I had seen the new cupcake store, Cupcake Love in the mall. I told her that I had seen it from the floor below, but had purposefully not gone to that floor because I was avoiding even looking at the cupcakes!
She then asked if we should cheat and buy a 12 pack of minis with all 12 of the flavors. UGH, I have no willpower, and of course went along. We ended up going home and splitting them all and eating every last bite...gross, huh?
I fell in LOVE with the Chocolate Peanut Butter Ecstasy, the German Chocolate Love Story, and the Fancy Pants Red Velvet!!!!
I got some again when my father in law was visiting this past week. Him and my husband didn't care for them, so I guess they are not for everyone....I still think they are amazing :)
They are super dense, and more like a rich cake then a fluffy cupcake and they have TONS of delicious frosting!!
I was on their website looking at their wedding images, and thought that this was such a cute idea!

And here are the ones we scarfed down a few days ago :)

Alina-Teasers

I met up with Alina and her beautiful family last weekend up in Temecula. She wanted to go to a little spot down the way from her home where she and her oldest daughter used to hike. They now have 2 more little additions to their family...2 gorgeous little girls they are a foster family for.
I WISH that I could post all the pictures with the 2 little ones included, but because they are foster children images of them are not to be put up on the internet. She had the whole family dressed so pretty in bright, vivid colors. The bright colors popped so well in the woodsy environment!
Here are just a few teasers...enjoy!

She wanted to show me her own pose...So cute!

Color Theme Thursday-Halloween

I was having a hard time thinking of a theme for this month's Color Theme Thursday post, so I asked my friends on Facebook to help me out. Helena came up with the awesome idea to do a Halloween themed post. It was fun trying to find spooky yet classy ideas for Halloween themed weddings :) I decided to throw in black and white damask to make it a bit more fancy :)
Enjoy!

Jenny & Trey

I've known Jenny and Trey a long time! Jenny and I met when we worked together at a camera store in high school. During our last month of high school we decided to get out on our own and we rented an apartment with another friend and Trey. Those were some crazy days! :)
Trey and Jenny decided last minute to get married in Vegas a few weeks ago. I wasn't able to make it to that one, but they had a beautiful reception at Old Poway Park for everyone else that wasn't able to attend their Vegas wedding.
Here are a few of my favorites! enjoy!

They got these mason jars while they were in Vegas and brought them back to have them engraved...so cute!

At their reception they did a wine ceremony. This is only the 2nd time I've seen this done and think that it is such a great idea. They had a wooden box custom made with their names and wedding date on it...they both wrote love letters to each other and included those with a bottle of wine in the box. Next, each of their parents as well as the bride and groom nailed the box shut. They are to open it whenever the marriage hits a rough patch, and sit together...drink the wine.... and read the letters to remember why they love each other.
Courtney from After The Engagement is one of Jenny's oldest and best friends, so she was of course there to do the wine ceremony!
