Carla-a little bit of everything

Carla contacted me about a month ago to inquire about getting some headshots done for her website. She is going to be selling jewelry from designers as well as various other accessories through her new website. I wish I had a website address to give you to see where you can get these lovely items, but it's still in the works. I will make sure to post about it once it's up and running though :)
Carla brought along some of her beautiful pieces to wear during the shoot, so we decided it would be great to get some product shots in as well...kill 2 birds with one stone. Wait no, we killed 3 birds because she also brought along her 2 adorable daughters, so we got some family pics in as well :)

Here are just a few of my favs from her session....enjoy!

Yes, the couch made an appearance again. I'm so in love with it....don't be surprised if it turns up on nearly every shoot :) Oooooh, and I have another new chair that I haven't used yet!

The New Site

I'm beyond excited to introduce the brand spankin new beki dawn photography.com
My good friend, Brad Chancellor, of Chancellor Design put together a stellar site and new brand for me, and I'm so in love with it!
Brad and I go WAY back! We used to play music together about 10 years ago. We had so much fun at that time in our life, and it's such a pleasure being able to collaborate with him again...only this time with our new found loves....graphic/web design and photography :)
Check out the site and let me know what you think and please hit Brad up for all of your web/graphic design needs. He's SO super easy to work with. enjoy!
Here are some pics of us back in the day... Brad and I are the 2 in the tree :)
Here we are on the side of the road on our way to play some shows in Arizona.

ok, this next pic is so embarrassing, but also extremely funny...me on the sax...haha!

Paul & Caitlin's Day

Caitlin and Paul's wedding was the last of the year for us, and we couldn't have asked for a better couple to end the year with. They are both so in love, so easy going, and just fun to be around which makes our job just so easy! I'm just about finished editing these, so instead of doing multiple posts...I'm going to throw them all in one big post....enjoy!

Color Theme Thursday- Purple & Yellow

Now that the holidays have come and gone...I now have a little more time to start up Color Theme Thursdays again...whoo hoo! My hope with doing these is that at least one person will find one idea that they might want to apply to their wedding day, and it's fun for me :)
One of my July brides has chosen yellow and purple for the colors of her wedding. I LOVED that idea....very unique. She was the inspiration for this week's Color Theme Thursday.

*Please note* I did not photograph any of these images....enjoy!

My Favs of 2009

Wow...in total shock that we are beginning a new year. That last one flew by before I could even stop to enjoy it. It was a crazy and hectic year, and I am looking forward to working on making this one slow down just a bit. I'm excited to finally have a little time to work on growing my business, and really making it what I have always dreamed of. I'm planning on making this the year to get organized, and start finding products that I love and know that my clients will love. I have a couple other little projects in the works as well that I can't wait to showcase on my blog this year :)
I know that every photographer does this at the beginning of the new year, but it's really fun to look through all the images from this past year and remember all of the moments that I've caught with my camera :) I've put together a collection on my favs (in no particular order)....I know there are ALOT but keep scrolling down...some of my absolute favorites are towards the bottom :) enjoy!

If you made it this far...THANKS for looking :)

Sisters

I still get a little nervous before every single shoot. I always worry a little that I might choke creatively, and not be able to think of a single way to pose. This was one I was a little more nervous about. 2 adult sisters....hmmm, what to do???? We met up....they worked it...and we got some amazing images for a very special man in their life.
These 2 wanted to give these as a gift to their grandpa. Their grandpa was way more than that two these 2 girls....he raised them since they were babies. I wish I was going to be there when he opened them :(
Here are a few of my favorites....enjoy!

One year later...Part 2

Things have been a little crazy around here with working 2 jobs, being a wife and mommy, and then adding all the hectic holiday stuff on top of it. Sorry I haven't been on top of the posting, but I'm ready to get caught up here now that things have finally slowed down :)

Ooooo some exciting news!!! I FINALLY got a Mac. For years I have been so against it. No way was I going to pay the extra money for a mac when PCs work perfectly fine.
This year, with my business being so busy, I realized just how much I needed it. So, I sit now writing this on my brand new imac. It's true what they say....Once you go Mac...you never go back. Brian and I are completely in love with this computer. It is AMAZING!

On to some images....here are a few more of this beautiful family....enjoy!

One year later...

I can't believe that it has been a year since I photographed Nicole's maternity session!!! This year has gone by way too fast! They have since moved out of San Diego, but came back down to do a family session...this time including their baby boy...well, not such a baby anymore...he's a big 1 year old now!

She chose to do the session at the same place where we took her maternity photos, which I thought was super special :)

Here are a few teasers....enjoy!

ok, seriously...this...CANVAS! I LOVE it!

Baby "N" is a pro at the "scrunchy" face :)

and a couple with the whole fam! Getting 3 adults, 2 dogs, and 1 kid to look at the camera....

not easy!

Didn't exactly work out how I wanted it to, but still adorable. Tried to get him to look at me, but this was taken towards the end of the session...he was totally over me by that point!

I love this...I took this photo last year when she was pregnant with "N"

and this one this year in the same spot
